Thanksgiving is a season of gratitude, warm gatherings, and scrumptious dishes. At Puptqe, we are always looking for ways for our pups to be included. Recognizing that many classic Thanksgiving foods aren't pup-friendly, we've found a unique meal exclusively for them. Now, your pup can join in on the Thanksgiving joy, both safely and tastily!

Turkey and Vegetable Medley

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (ensure it's pure pumpkin, not the pie mix)
  • 1/2 cup cooked quinoa or brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until it's browned and thoroughly cooked, breaking it into smaller pieces as it cooks.
  3. Once the turkey is fully cooked, add the carrots and peas. Stir and let them cook for about 5 minutes, or until they soften.
  4. Stir in the pumpkin puree, quinoa or brown rice, turmeric, and ginger. Mix everything well.
  5. Allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 5 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature before serving.

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (ensure it's xylitol-free)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, eggs, pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and cinnamon until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it's about 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Use your favorite cookie cutter shapes (maybe turkey or leaf shapes for the holiday) to cut out biscuits.
  5. Place the biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the edges start to brown.
  7. Allow them to cool completely before offering them to your furry friend.

Serving Tip: For the ultimate Thanksgiving plate, serve a portion of the turkey and vegetable medley with one or two pumpkin dog biscuits on the side. Don't forget to ensure the portions are appropriate for your dog's size and dietary needs.

As you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast, your dog will surely appreciate having a special meal of their own. Always remember to avoid giving your dog foods that can be harmful, like chocolate, grapes, onions, and foods with xylitol. This Thanksgiving, let's ensure everyone – including our four-legged family members – has a safe, happy, and delicious celebration!
